An ethical development company, Supported Living Gateway, with whom we’d worked before on a couple of smaller projects, came to us, pre-purchase, with this prospect in Bideford. A concrete framed commercial office building in the town centre. The building was for sale with a commercial tenant on the ground floor but with two floor above available for conversion.
The client, as their name suggests, specialize in delivering supported living projects and a brief viability study confirmed that, depending on their requirements, the building could yield up to 18, one bed, units across these two floors.
Working with the client and the supported living provider we developed and submitted a prior approval application for 16 flats, with a new lift access, and had the approval within 8 weeks.
